Holmdel, NJ, December 14, 2016 – New Jersey-based Sonnenfeld + Trocchia Architects, P.A. is celebrating 25 years in business this month. To mark the occasion, the company hosted an all-employee anniversary and holiday celebration on December 9, 2016.

The firm started in 1991 with just two employees: its principals, Gregg Sonnenfeld and Andrew Trocchia. Services provided ranged from design documentation to construction administration, with projects growing in size and scope over the years. Today, the company has a staff of 15, many of whom have been with the company for a decade or longer.

“One of our greatest accomplishments has been building our team to include so many dedicated individuals who share our vision to provide clients the best service and to help them achieve distinctive, successful projects,” says Trocchia, who had nine years of experience with Kaplan, Gaunt DeSantis (KGD) Architects prior to joining Sonnenfeld to start S+T. “We believe that sets us apart: we’re resolutely committed to helping our clients achieve their goals on time and on budget. Their success is our success.”

One factor that has helped the firm thrive is also one of its greatest points of distinction: deep knowledge of the construction process. Sonnenfeld—who spent two years at KGD Architects—grew up in the family business, Kofield Construction, which is owned by both principals of S + T today. Understanding the construction industry, Sonnenfeld says, is imperative to a successful architecture project.

“We take great pride in marrying client satisfaction with our commitment to innovation,” Sonnenfeld says. “We strive to exceed their expectations by delivering stylized and creative designs, and our deep knowledge of the ins and outs of the construction industry is a substantial asset that we bring to the table. The most beautiful design in the world isn’t great if it simply isn’t feasible or affordable for our clients to build.”

Through the years, Sonnenfeld + Trocchia has completed many notable projects, including Red Bank’s West Side Lofts, the Lakewood Township Fire Complex, the Monmouth County Fire Academy, the Monmouth Child Advocacy Center, and the Deal Sephardic Network Community Center. S + T recently completed the $25 million Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.

The firm is currently providing services on two multi-family projects in the Riverbend District of Harrison, New Jersey, for Advance Realty and DeBartolo Development. These projects total 566 apartment units and include a residents’ lounge, recreation room and fitness areas.

During the past nine years, S + T has received eleven New Jersey Builders Association SAM Awards, including five for Best Community of the Year. In addition, the firm has received Firehouse magazine’s Station Design Awards for the Lakewood Hook and Ladder Firehouse, Lakehurst Office of Emergency Management, the Monmouth County Fire Academy and the Monmouth County Planning Board for the Hazlet Township Community Center.

To commemorate its 25th year, S + T has introduced a new, temporary anniversary logo and will unveil a redesigned website in 2017. Learn more about the firm and view its portfolio of multi-family, public, and commercial projects at www.sonnenfeldandtrocchia.com.
