Holmdel, NJ, January 31, 2017 – Sonnenfeld + Trocchia Architects, P.A., a New Jersey-based architectural firm, has made a monetary gift to the Friends of the Monmouth County Child Advocacy Center, a child-focused facility that helps victims of child abuse.
Sonnenfeld + Trocchia designed the facility, which opened in April 2009 and expanded in October 2015. The Monmouth County Child Advocacy Center takes an integrated, multidisciplinary, child-friendly approach to the investigation and treatment of abuse of children. Sonnenfeld + Trocchia strived to design a facility that focuses on creating a comfortable, safe environment for children who have experienced trauma.
Gregg Sonnenfeld, co-principal architect of Sonnenfeld + Trocchia, says that the firm is a longtime supporter of the Monmouth County Child Advocacy Center. “We believe so strongly in what they do and have been very honored to play a role in the creation of this facility, which brings all of the services that abused and neglected children need under one roof,” he says. “Giving back to the communities we serve is important to our firm, and this is one of the organizations that means a lot to us.”
Sonnenfeld + Trocchia’s gift goes toward equipment and supplies for the Monmouth County Child Advocacy Center’s medical exam suite. It also supports a range of improvements to the facility.
Co-Principal Architect Andy Trocchia adds that the firm has designed several buildings in Monmouth County. “Through the years, we have worked on a number of important projects for the county, including the Prosecutor’s Office, the Fire Academy, and the newest phase of the Sherriff’s Office,” he says. “It has been a pleasure to be involved with each one of these projects, but the Monmouth County Child Advocacy Center holds a special place in our hearts. To design a facility that improves the lives of children is a sincere privilege that we take seriously.”
